Churton makes highly individual and characterful wines that are the

expression of its unique site and terroir. The history of the company

combines the old world fine-wine experience of winemaker, Sam Weaver, with a wonderful hillside site in Marlborough.

 

The vineyard is certified organic and is run using a biodynamic philosophy.

The close-planted, hillside vineyard has 18 different blocks, each making the most of different slopes, aspects, soil structure and drainage.

 

Our biodynamic management allows the expression and interpretation of this terroir to be maximised. In short the estate is run in a highly detailed manner that is more akin to an old world domaine. The wines we make demonstrate depth and texture, length and focus, where fruit has its part to play but is not a dominant factor. We produce vins de terroir and not vins de technique.
