Chenin blanc is a Golden Prince. Montlouis-sur-Loire is a fine white stallion, striding gracefully and powerfully. In unison, they can make our imaginations soar, and can reach such great heights. Domaine Jousset aims to encourage this perfect union.  

 

The wines are "made" in the vineyard. The Domaine holds 11 ha of organic vines, worked mostly by hand with minimal tractor use. Some vineyards, including the magical Clos aux Renards, are worked only by draft-horse. Biodynamic preparations add vitality. The soil structure is clay on limestone, with some sand and flint. All harvesting is by hand, with severe selection and sorting in the vineyard. Winemaking is precise and non-intrusive, no pumps only gravity, with no entrants (except homeopathic doses of SO2). 

 

These are still and sparkling wines of extraordinary depth and character.
